Because of the efforts of Minnesotans defending their freedoms, it looks as though the misguided Teamsters' attack on independent contractors will go down to a Gubernatorial veto.
With enough House Republicans - and a lonely, brave Democrat - voting No to sustain a veto, this bill appears headed for the scrap heap where it belongs.
The efforts of thousands of Minnesotans working to defend their jobs and businesses will be enough to defeat the special interests...this time. I have no doubt that this and other anti-worker, anti-jobs legislation will be making their way through the DFL-controlled legislature.
As Mr. Jefferson wrote so eloquently, the price of freedom is eternal vigilance.
Minnesotans who love freedom and prosperity should thank all the Minnesota House members who voted no, as well as Governor Pawlenty when he vetoes it. They should then start preparing for the next big fight, which will be Thursday when the Democrats bring a truly awful tax bill to the floor. |

Your efforts to stop Job-Killing new regulations in Minnesota are having an effect.
But we need to keep up the pressure. The bill assaulting the right of Minnesotans to work as an independent contractor is scheduled for the Minnesota House floor tomorrow.
The big government crowd is going after the rights of folks working in the trucking industry, but they won't stop there. Who will they pick next? Will it be your job they target for extinction?
I ask that you redouble your efforts to contact your member of the Minnesota House and tell them to fix this bill or vote it down.

As a follow up to the post below on the job killing new regulations making their way through the Minnesota legislature, we need you to act today to stop these new regulations from hurting Minnesota workers and the Minnesota economy. We need you to get involved TODAY in order to stop the DFL legislature from passing one more plank in their big government agenda.
If you don't know your legislators, go here, find them and tell them to stop HF 3296, an unnecessary assault on independent contractors. The last thing our economy needs right now is more big government weighing it down. |

While we hear speeches about religion, we don't hear much about out-of-control government. Send these guys an email and tell them to get government under control. Tell them you want clear answers and commitments on critical limited government issues. Tell them our country's future depends on it.
